These are the terms under which The Gift Perch is provided. By using the site you accept them. The Gift Perch is published by Slate Mill Group.

1. What this site is

The Gift Perch is an independent publication about gifts for bird lovers. It is editorial content: research, comparison and opinion, based on specifications published by manufacturers and on guidance published by ornithological organizations.

2. What this site is not

• Not a shop. We do not sell, stock, ship, warranty or service anything. Every purchase you make is with a third-party retailer under their terms.
• Not a testing laboratory. We do not test the products we write about and we say so on every page. See how we pick.
• Not professional advice. Nothing here is veterinary, wildlife-management, electrical or legal advice.
• Not affiliated with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the National Audubon Society, or any manufacturer named on the site. We cite them as sources; they do not endorse us.

3. Prices and availability

• Prices are supplied by a live retailer data layer and carry a visible verification date. They change constantly.
• The retailer's price at checkout is the price. Anything shown here is indicative of the moment it was fetched.
• Where no live price exists, the page shows no number. That is deliberate.
• Availability, shipping, returns and warranty are entirely matters for the retailer.

4. Specifications

Specifications on this site are compiled from manufacturers' own published documentation, with the source named on the page and the date it was read. Manufacturers revise specifications, change variants and discontinue products without notice, and a figure that was accurate when we read it may not be accurate when you buy.

Check the current listing before you buy. If you find a figure here that no longer matches the manufacturer's own documentation, tell us and we will correct it.

5. Affiliate links

This site earns commission on qualifying purchases made through its links, at no extra cost to you. Every earning link is marked, and the arrangement is described in full on the affiliate disclosure page. Commission plays no part in what we recommend or how we rank it.

6. Use of this site

Feeding and housing wild birds carries responsibilities. Feeders and baths need regular cleaning to avoid spreading disease; nest boxes should be sited and cleaned appropriately; playback and bird calls should be used sparingly and never at an active nest. Local regulations vary, and it is your responsibility to check the ones that apply where you live.

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
